The International Association for Boundary Element Methods (IABEM) promotes and facilitates the international exchange of technical information on the development of boundary integral equation formulations and numerical solution techniques, commonly referred to as Boundary Element Methods (BEM), and their applications to problems in nature technology, engineering, and science. The Association organizes a biennial international symposium for more than 20 years. The last four symposia were held in Paris (1998), Brescia (2000), Austin (2002), Minneapolis (2004) and Graz (2006). Following the success of previous meetings, a four-day symposium named IABEM2011 is being organized at the University of Brescia, Italy on September 5-8, 2011.

It aims at providing a forum for researchers in boundary integral formulations and boundary element methods: concepts, advancements in computing capabilities, and understanding of this computational methodology will be presented and discussed. Applications complexity and computational capabilities achieved new peaks since the last 2006 IABEM symposium in Graz. New visions, problems, and knowledge call the world of simulation to novel challenges in industry and research.
The IABEM2011 symposium and the related events are managed by the Department of Civil, Architecture, Environment and Land (DICATA) at the University of Brescia, by the Research Centre of Seismology and Structural Dynamics (Ce.Si.A), and the cultural no-profit association "Osvaldo De Donato". All sessions of the conference will be organized in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Brescia (Italy), via Branze 43. It offers modern technology plus excellent space for large audience. All sessions, meetings and exhibitions as well as relaxed communication and refreshment during coffee breaks will be concentrated in one building.
Two special sessions are organized within the conference. One aims at honor Prof. S. Mukherjee and Prof. L. Gray for their outstanding contributions in BEM. One is devoted to Industrial applications of BEM.
The conference Language is English and will be required for all presentations.
